Indications for the admission of patients to the LS ICU
For long-term ventilator dependent patients
- the patients hospitalised due to critical illness (regardless their diagnoses) lasting minimum three months
- after managing a critical state
- the documented failure of attempts to disconnect from the continual artificial lung ventilation lasting minimum two weeks
- the need to continue with intensive care
- the clinical state which does not allow to ensure long-term domestic artificial lung ventilation
For apallic patients
- the patients hospitalised due to a critical illness (regardless their diagnoses) lasting minimum one month
- after managing a critical state
- unambiguously determined diagnosis of apallic syndrome without any symptoms of reversibility minimum one month from the beginning of cause
- spontaneous ventilation
- the need to continue with intensive care
- the clinical state that does not allow to ensure nursing home care
The admission to the Ward is the subject of previous approval from the health insurance company´s assessment physician based on the application of provider. The all above mentioned conditions must be documented properly.
